FAQs

When should we book our session, and how early in advance?

It's good to try and book your session a couple of months ahead so that it's more likely I have availability. If you happen to book only a couple of weeks out, just remember I might already be booked, but I will try my best to find a time that will work! For weddings, definitely try to book 6 months to a year in advance because you're more likely to get your desired date. But, there's always a chance that I'm available, so don't be afraid to ask anyways if the date is sooner than later! Most people choose to have their weddings on the weekends, so if you are wanting a portrait/senior, family, or couples session, try to plan during the week if possible.

What kinds of shots will you be getting on the wedding day?

A couple of months before the wedding, I'll send a questionnaire to the bride and groom. It goes over their love story, wedding details, and what they'd like me to try to get in pictures. That includes family shots, reception dances, wedding party, etc. I'll take time to research poses and whatnot for the wedding day and make sure they match the personalities of the couple. For regular sessions like seniors or couples, I will ask the clients questions about their personalities and use that to find poses and picture inspiration that'll work well in their session.

Do you travel for weddings and other shoots?

YES! While I haven't shot any destination weddings yet (just had styled shoots in other states), I'd love to travel and capture your memories along the way! That sounds like a dream :) I'm based out of Fort Wayne, IN, so I'm willing to drive to a location in the midwest if it's reasonable. If the location of the session/wedding is farther away, there will be travel expenses added to the total cost.

Can my parents come to the shoot?

Yes! Parents or siblings are definitely allowed to come to the session as long as they don't interrupt or get in the way of trying to take pictures.

What if it rains?

Hey, things happen! If it rains during the session or wedding day, we will adjust and make it work. If that means rescheduling the session, I'm more than okay with doing that. If it's during a wedding, I will always bring protection for my equipment in case of bad weather and we will find a way inside (if possible) for pictures.

Should I book a second shooter?

That's totally up to you! A second shooter allows for extra variety in photos, as I cannot be everywhere all the time. It'll be more photos for you at the end of the day! If you can afford to add a second shooter, definitely do it!

How do you choose the location for the shoot?

I choose the locations of the shoots based on my experiences with the lighting and backgrounds there. If you have sentimental areas that you'd like to shoot at, I'm definitely fine with doing that too!

Can I extend the session on the day of?

You cannot extend the session on the day of, as I've already scheduled other things around this shoot. If you give me at least 24 hours' notice, I will try my best to make the extension work!

Do I have to order prints through you?

No, you do not! There are lots of printing services online that are very user-friendly though.
